The Student Council is the official representation of the PhD students within the graduate school (IRTG - Integrated Research Training Group). It consists of six students from the different SFB research projects (A,B, and C) and is elected every year by a general assembly of all IRTG members.
Some of the duties/tasks of the Student Council are:
to foster communication and exchange among IRTG students, both professional and informal;
to serve as a contact point for student concerns that require discussion within the IRTG;
to represent the student body in IRTG activities and organizational matters within the SFB;
the evaluation of IRTG teaching activities;
the organization of “PhD Days”, a day-long “mini-conference” and social events for and by IRTG students
The SFB-676 IRTG Student Council has is able to fund research travels of PhD students of both the SFB-676 IRTG and LEXI. The money will be used to support the students to attend interesting educational activities. - The programme should have a connection to SFB-676- and LEXI-related research.
- The number of supported students shall be maximized.
- Educational activities with higher benefit to cost ratio will be preferred.
This list should be understood as a guiding principle. Every application will be considered. The funds will be distributed twice a year. The next deadline is
The SFB 676 PhD-days is a short workshop aimed to stimulate discussion and collaboration between the students of the different projects.
